Flood Damage, Ballater

We were instructed by Scottish Fire & Rescue Service to co-ordinate and project manage flood damage reinstatement works to the Fire Station in Ballater following catastrophic flooding from the River Dee in December 2015.

Services included specialist assessment and liason with the appointed Loss Adjuster and Regional Fire Officer to ascertain and agree the extent of strip out and refurbishment. We also provided procurement advice, appointment of specialist drying companies, Principal Designer, preparation of specification, procurement of main contractor, tender analysis, appointment of Principal Contractor and contract administration duties through to completion.

Works were completed within nine months.

The challenges faced included sourcing a contractor with appropriate labour and rectification of damaged below ground drainage.

Scottish Fire & Rescue Service were pleased with the work and the claim was settled quickly with the insurance company and Loss Adjuster.
